This year, India’s Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Refuse and Recycling will partner up for the first time with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) think tank. Together they will organize the first Environmental Technologies Conference to further drive the environmental protection on the subcontinent. The Environmental Technologies Conference will be held in Mumbai at the same time as the trade fair on September 26 and 27.

Forum to discuss political measures

The conference program covers the classic IFAT India topics of water, sewage, refuse and recycling. Sustainability will also be considered in particular. Katharina Schlegel, Exhibition Director for the IFAT trade fairs abroad at Messe München, explains: “As the leading meeting place of the Indian environmental industry, IFAT India is the ideal platform for industry and politics to exchange information. The new conference gives us the opportunity to create a forum where expert knowledge can be shared and current political measures discussed.”

Huge need for knowledge transfer

Dr. Annapurna Vancheswaran, Senior Director at TERI, underscores the importance of this new cooperation: “The need for knowledge transfer in the field of environmental technologies in India is huge. The partnership with IFAT India strengthens the dialog around technology. That is crucial to drive the use of clean environmental solutions.” IFAT India’s products and solutions target especially the Indian market. Exhibitors at this year’s trade fair include the industry’s key players, including Andritz Group, Aqseptence Group, CRI Pumps, Endress+Hauser India, Excel Industries, Kilburn, LG Chem, Tata Projects and Xylem.

2016 was the biggest IFAT India – so far

A total of 143 exhibitors and 5,187 visitors took part in the last IFAT India. Spread over 6,100 square meters – a 23 percent increase in space compared with the previous year – 2016 was the biggest IFAT India trade fair so far. Read more
